How does this idea sound to you guys Admin's Note:
How about putting SAFB cards inside F-Body related magazines at Barnes&Nobles, Borders, etc Admin's Note:
- Super Chevy, High Performance Pontiac, GM HighTech Performance, Hot Rod, Pontiac Enthusiast... Just a little card tucked neatly inside so readers can find it. That might be a broader way to target our potential member base. And we don't have to stop at magazines. Why not put a card inside the F-Body books also Admin's Note:
That way we are reaching out to people who share our interests in reparing, upgrading, and building their Camaros and Firebirds and might not know that we are out here Admin's Note:
Has anyone spoken to any GM dealerships about leaving a stack of cards on the counter Admin's Note:
And not just dealerships, what about college campus bulletin boards Admin's Note:
apartment complex bulletin boards that are always near the mail boxes Admin's Note:
Put some in the F-Body Haynes and Chilton manuals at the parts stores Admin's Note:
Stick some inside $--t at WalMart, Target, HEB...you get what I mean. Any feedback Admin's Note:
Pros Admin's Note:
Cons Admin's Note:
Hey guys, my mechanic, Johnny's Automotive, is thinking about buying a Dyno for his drive up lift. I think it's like 25K vs like 75k for in ground dynos. his place is located on "gilbo" just after the Tezel and Gilbo interchange, on the right.
I told him if they are serious, I could get tons of guys to go if they were to hold a weekend event at discounted club prices every now and again. Johnny has always owned GM model cars and currently owns a Gen III Camaro in the works. He loves these cars and is always wanting to better them. Honest guy and mechanic!
If anyone sees the potential in this as an opportunity, lets get together, and maybe even meet up with Johnny some time, and discuss such an Idea. We'd need to do like a fund raiser or somthing; BUT, I think it would be a bonus for both parties, our club for some good dyno prices, and for Johnny to grow his business! His number is 210-509-8854 if anyone else thinks this may be a good Idea...

I like this association, and I will miss it because it's much better than the one I was in in Florida, but be careful who you happen to catch...I suggest SPECIFIC marketing, as in, if you meet and talk to the person. There are a lot of thieves and iffy people out there that you wouldn't suspect till it happeneds. I have been in 2 different groups that have fallen apart because of one or two people who get "marketed" to join, end up making everyone in the association hate eachother. Or like the group I helped start 'San Antonio 3rd Gen'....that is a dead group because of 1 person who decided to steal. I'm not saying you have to reject anyone who joins...but you have a better chance of getting someone who will help the association rather than hurt it by pretty much interviewing them per say.

Hey maybe we can put on a SAFBA car show to promote F-body's. Who up for that thats not a bad idea. it takes alot of planning though,i will do what i can to help put one together.maybe we can contact a city councilman and ask if we can take part of any events in their district. councilman are always throwing some kind of party in their district and when i spoke to a couple of councilman a couple of years ago at a san antonio parks foundation event and they said they were extremely interested in doing a car show. who knows maybe we can still work it,but will need CONCRETE reservations of those attending.
